Known as Ignacio Gar, Gregorio Ignacio Garcia de la Fuente, son of the private photographer of the Kings of Belgium, was born in San Sebastian, on the northern part of Spain, next to France. He studied at the University of Leioa at the Faculty of Information Sciences. From an early age he started his photographic activities, and at age 4 made his first photographic report, and at age 8 was the dearest young photographer among the hundreds that pursued Queen Fabiola of Belgium. At age 20 he established his first business getting interested on every type of innovative activity inside the graphic communication and artistic expressions. And so this, is how he experimented as literary as well as a graphic journalist for 20 years in a newspaper of great circulation. Simultaneously, he worked for 8 years as a radio commentator and 3 years as a professional pianist and singer. Having decided to dedicate his life to the photographic activity, he made numerous trips throughout Spain and abroad attending Seminars, Congresses, Fairs, and commercial exhibitions. Among his activities should be highlighted: -Founder of the Professional Association of Photographers of Guipuzcuoa, Spain, of which he was president. -Director and President of the Spanish Federation of Photographers. -Founder and President of the Businessmen Association of Zarautz, Spain. (His hometown). -Member of the P.M.A. (Photo Marketing Association of America). -Member of the P.M.A of Europe. -Member of the European Association of Professional Photographers. -Member of the Federation of Graphic Press Reporters of Spain. -Member of the Proffessional Federation of Wedding Photographers of Puerto Rico. -Participated as exhibitor of his own photographic products, invented and patented by him, at the worlds largest photography fair “Photokina”, that takes place every two years in Köln, Germany. -Director of the “Zarautz Gaur” Journal. -Cinematographic illuminator. -Make up technician, esthetic improvement and transformation. -He has given conferences in Spain, to professional photographers on photographic techniques, marketing and sales. -He has been speaker at (4) four Congresses of Professional Photograph in Spain. -He has been a computer professor, specializing in management of software for photo artistic applications, at the Bask Institute of New Professions.

Today: Being in a moment of clear evolution on every sphere of communications, thanks to the computers and the Internet, he has dedicated the last five years to the investigation of new form of expression and creativity in order to express himself with the greatest clarity, the wishes and tastes of the artist, his personality and his feelings. His personalized work, within the creative graphic design through the info graphic, is one of the clear exponents of the modern days of this kind of expression, in which the art influences greatly. You only have to see his recent works to realize that you are dealing with an experienced person who knows the most modern techniques of graphic expression and of an exquisite refinement in the daily task. His technical knowledge added to his experience and to his human qualities of artistic self-improvement, make him a renowned world-class photographer.
Now in Puerto Rico Ignacio Gar would have never imagined that he would end up living in the Island of Enchantment. This, trying to find a space for his activity and passion, he presented his works for the first time at the Plaza Las Americas Brides Fair in 2001, obtaining a high valorization and esteem from those who came to see it. Trying to reach the people that have treated him so well, and with the hope of serving them as a photographer, Ignacio Gar is surely wining over their trust and appreciation. |
